More Performance with Less Floor Space: The New Footprint Saver package for the LOOPTEQ O-400

With the new Footprint Saver package for the LOOPTEQ O-400, HOMAG enables an exceptionally compact integration of return system technology. Thanks to the optimized machine geometry, up to 14 m² of floor space can be saved without compromising performance or ergonomics.

In many woodworking shops, available floor space is a key competitive factor. While modern edgebanding lines continue to become more automated, production space can rarely be expanded at will. With the new Footprint Saver package, HOMAG offers a solution specifically designed for the needs of small and medium-sized businesses: a return system that combines maximum automation with minimal space requirements.

The package is available exclusively for the Return Conveyor LOOPTEQ O-400 and enables compact production layouts without compromising performance.

Compact Design for Maximum Space Efficiency

At the heart of the Footprint Saver concept is the consistent optimization of machine geometry. Both the height-adjustable air-cushion tables and the transverse table have been significantly shortened. At the same time, the belt tables beneath the gantry are approximately 400 mm narrower, while the gantry supports have been positioned with minimal clearance from the machine.

This brings the entire return system closer to the edgebanding machine, enabling an exceptionally compact layout. Despite the significantly reduced footprint, the system retains virtually its full range of capabilities – a key advantage for manufacturers that do not want to compromise on either productivity or space utilization.

Up to 14 m² Less Floor Space Required

These design enhancements have a direct impact on production layouts: when paired with an Edgebander EDGETEQ S-500, floor space savings of approximately 14 m² can be achieved.

This opens up new opportunities for companies with limited production space to make more efficient use of their existing facilities or integrate additional processes into current layouts.

Ergonomic Despite the Reduced Footprint

Ease of operation is not compromised. The Ergonomics Package 1 comes standard with the Footprint Saver and includes height-adjustable air-cushion tables as well as ergonomically optimized working positions.

This helps reduce physical strain on operators – a significant benefit, particularly in high-throughput production environments.

However, certain limitations are intentional: stacking stations and the more extensive Ergonomics Package 2 cannot be combined with the Footprint Saver.
